Day 27

I skipped forward from the 24th. For three days, I spent almost all my time feeling grateful for my daughter’s study abroad experience. Looking back, I think I was actually pretty worried about her. In the end, my daughter never got homesick even once, and now she’s a sophomore in college. She beautifully balances her studies, part-time job, and romance. Even when she gets sick occasionally, she just sleeps it off. She dresses up, eats out almost all the time, and lives independently like an office worker (lol). Honestly, I’m envious. Being completely fine on your own gives you so much freedom.

And now, this 27th day. On this way, I went out for dinner with my son and my parents to celebrate both my daughter’s study abroad send-off and my parents’ 76th birthdays. We went to a lovely lounge that was truly fitting for a “dinner”. Guess we don’t call it a restaurant (lol). We went to a place called a sky lounge. I think it was a Saturday. There was a live band performance (Yuming day). A window seat. The night view. Delicious food and champagne. It was absolute perfection. My daughter grew up safely, and she left home to freely pursue her dreams – and that was all thanks to my parents’ support. I expressed my heartfelt gratitude and thanked them from the bottom of my heart. My son isn’t usually very talkative, but he answered my parents’ questions little by little and showed plenty of smiles. It was a wonderful night.

On Day 27, I was feeling grateful for the health of myself and my family, the wonderful lounge, the delicious dinner, and the money that made such a lovely night possible.

Writing “possible” at the end made me remember. When it came time to settle the bill at the end, I tried to pay with my credit card, but for some reason, it didn’t work! So, as it turns out, my son ended up paying with his card. Son, thank you so much for that time.
