”Aozora” Completed!
Basically, Please consider anything that isn’t a “Gratitude Work” entry as my current diary. The Gratitude Work entries are from two years ago.
For some reason, I currently find myself playing bass on a guitar. The reason is that someone better at playing guitar than me is handling the main guitar part. Since I’m at a level where I can just barely keep up if it’s single notes, I’m playing the baseline.
Because of that, I looked up what a fretboard actually is on YouTube for the first time. Four years after buying a guitar, I finally learned how the scale system works on it! How interesting! Wow, so it’s built so that each fret goes up by a half step. Wow, it’s arranged so systematically! Until now, I was just holding down frets and playing according to TAB sheets without really understanding anything, though the beauty of chord resonance was great too.
The time, while figuring out the bassline for THE BLUE HEARTS’ “Aozora” from the chords – although I can’t copy music entirely by ear, my fingers don’t move well, and it’s a totally self-taught bassline – it’s so much fun! And I’ve completed a bassline that probably won’t get in the way of the chords! I’m so happy! So fun! I can’t wait to play together with others this Sunday.
Music is fun no matter what – playing instruments, singing, listening, or performing. It’s a hobby I can enjoy no matter how old I get. I’m surrounded by quite a few people who play music or love music. I’m truly grateful for that, too. If I say “Let’s play!”, I have a friend who comes rushing over with a Sanshin, and a chanson singer who lets us hear her beautiful singing voice. And nearby, there was a guy who plays guitar ridiculously well (lol), and a girl with a charming singing voice! I’m so thankful for these encounters. Making music with others makes it twice as fun. Thank you for such a happy time!
