About Love 2026. 6.14 21:17

Through the gratitude exercise on June 7,2026, I came to understand the true nature of love and how to love. At the same time, the guiding principle for how I want to live my life was set.

Love is about the things and experiences that naturally draw you in. I cannot feel “love” for things or experiences outside of that, but I can feel gratitude. Does the set of love sit inside the set of gratitude? Love truly is something special, even within gratitude. Even if I cannot love something, I can still be grateful for it.

Love isn’t something you do by thinking about it. Love is being naturally drawn to something. Because I lived my life without knowing or understanding this, loving felt so difficult. I think things got confusing because I attached myself to thing pretending to love them when I didn’t, or pretended not to love when I actually did. What I thought was love always ended up transforming into “anger “,”sadness”,or “despair” – ending up as something that wasn’t love at all. Because I was clinging to things that were’t love, I never felt loved either. That makes total sense, since I didn’t even understand what love was. Even when I got hold of something, I was left thinking,”Is this it?” or “Is this love?” without understanding anything. I aimlessly exchanged things that felt somewhat like love, only to end up realizing I never truly understood any of it.

It’s embarrassing to admit, but better late than never: in the second half of my life, I finally understand love. It is simply being deeply fond of something and being naturally drawn to it.

First, my son and daughter. Ever since they were born, they have constantly brought out my love. I cannot help but love them. They have been teaching me what love is all along.

And I love my life. There were times when I gave up on my self, but I feel that I never truly abandoned my life and have always managed to choose the way I wanted to live.

And right now, leaning about how the body works and mindsets through Aikido. Leaning about the world through English. Enjoying music through the guitar, piano, and band. Connecting with Japanese culture through Kimino, calligraphy, and flower arrangement. These are all things I love and simply can’t get enough of.

And then, the gratitude exercises. I can no longer help but do them either. Thanks to the gratitude exercise, so many doors within me have opened. It was like cleaning, organizing, and polishing what was inside me, but it also felt like an adventure. Inside my clear, well-ordered self, precious things are polished to a shine and neatly arranged here and there – easy to see, so I never lose sight of them.

“I am naturally drawn to me.”

“I live in the present, grateful for everything I have (what was in the past, what is here now, and what I will gain in the future).”

Right now, these two jewel – like concepts are displayed brightly inside me. Looking into my own heart brings me so much happiness.

My heart is so happy right now. I have come to truth myself much more. Knowing that I can live with love from here on makes my heart flutter. The urge to cling to the past will probably vanish almost completely, simply because loving feels so joyful right now. Imagining a future where I continue to love makes me feel deeply happy.

That is the end of Chapter 1. It took two years from when I started the gratitude exercise to reach this point. When I tried copying down each day’s exercise from two years ago one by one, it felt endless, so I decided to just jump straight to the conclusion. I thought it would be nice to show how the gratitude exercises have deepened by writing chronologically, but once I started writing, I realized there wasn’t much visual difference between my current gratitude exercises and those from the past (lol). So, I decided not to worry about strict timeline order. The structure may have completely scattered, but since the blog is called parallel universe diary, I’ll just make it a blog where I can freely move back and forth in time. As for what happened on June 7,2026, I’ll write about that when the timing feels right.
