Day 21

1 I am grateful that my daughter was able to pursue the path she hoped for. Thank you.

2 I am grateful that my daughter arrived safely at her study abroad destination. She will now be able to enjoy a happy and carefree life living on her own.

3 Thank you for preparing such a wonderful room for my daughter. She can relax and spend her time comfortably.

4 I am grateful for the money I currently have. I can support my daughter in following her chosen path.

5 I am grateful for the money that will come to me from now on. I can support my daughter and son.

6 I am grateful for my daughter’s good health. She can start her new life in high spirits.

7 I am grateful for my own health. I can support my family firmly.

8 I am grateful for the airplane. Thank you for transporting us safely and comfortably.

9 I am grateful for the kind people my daughter will meet from now on. Thank you for supporting her.

10 I am grateful to my daughter. Thank you for showing me the way you live your life. It fills me with respect, courage, and hope.

If you look only at this, it might seem like a wonderful life studying abroad. But in reality, I was worried sick. There was a hole in the wall under the kitchen sink – I wandered if mice might come out. Could she really live in such a dirty place? I wiped down the entire room and did everything I could before coming back home.

However, in “Gratitude Work”, this is how you write. that is the trick: magnify the parts you can be grateful for and express your gratitude. Give thanks in advance for what you hope will happen. That’s the secret. When you do that, things tend to work out that way.

By the way, the punchline is that when I returned to Japan and cleaned my daughter’s room there, it was 50 times dirtier than her place abroad, lol. Seeing that, my worries completely blew away, thinking,”If she lived in a room like this, she can survive anywhere,”lol. Being grateful to my daughter for keeping her room dirty so as not to make her mother worry – that’s Gratitude Work, lol. Though the reality was just being dumbfounded, lol.
