Day 127 (September 10, 2024)
1 I am grateful for meeting my ex-husband. Meeting him allowed me to face many challenges : attachment and dependency. It was very painful, but by facing those things, I learned to let go of attachment and dependency, achieve independence, respect others, and more. Thank you.
2 I am grateful to him for blessing us with two children. My son and daughter are my treasures, my hope, and my courage. They show me a wonderful world – they show me a new world. They are the joy of my life. They are the greatest treasures I received from you. Thank you.
3 I am grateful for my married life with him. Thank you for marrying someone like me, who couldn’t do much and was immature as a person. Through our married life, I learned how to handle household chores and give my all, how to endure, how to let go, how to truly wish for others’ happiness, how to cherish myself, how to love my children, how to respect people, and how to forgive. Thank you.
4 I am grateful that he has paid so much money for me and the children up until now. Because of this, we have been able to let our children do what they want to do, and they are growing up with self-confidence, living vibrant lives, and walking their own paths. I am also able to live comfortably in this apartment, enjoy many fun tings, and live a life free of any hardships. Thank you.
Hmm, I hesitated over whether to keep this. Because compered to my feelings from two years ago, right now I feel a little different. How is it different? Well, I think back then, I was forcing myself to write this gratitude practice. Honestly, I think I was still holding onto a lot of persistent resentment. I think there was a part of me that still harbored grudge. But perhaps as part of the gratitude practice – like an assignment to fell grateful toward someone you find difficult – I feel like I wrote it while making a wry face. Enlarging the gratitude section.
Looking at it now, it feels a bit forced, and I wondered what I should do with it. But even so, the words of gratitude I worked hard on are enlarged, they are genuine, and I can tell that I tried my absolute best to write them, so I’ll leave them here. I really did my best.
